Director of Sales and Marketing

The Director of Sales and Marketing will report directly to the President and be a key member of the leadership team. This role will be responsible for implementing and executing DCS’ sales goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales strategy in conjunction with President
  • Grow profitably the existing portfolio with current strategic customers
  • Develop new business opportunities & markets
  • Directly manage and build a high performing sales team
  • Plan, organize and implement sales programs for the company
  • Must collaborate across the organization and have a clear and concise view of the activities to report as required to the executive team
  • Responsible for achieving overall sales objectives
  • Serve as the primary sales department head.
  • Be responsible for meeting profit and top line goals
  • Oversee the sales activity daily
  • Setting guidelines for prospecting, meetings, reporting, forecasting and managing the pipeline
  • Accompany the account managers on calls and provide coaching and guidance
  • Ensure integrated efforts and provide feedback and direction to staff regarding strategic planning, goals and objectives for overall company performance, individual performance, employee retention and acquisition
  • Be responsible for administration and distribution of timely sales reports and projections as required
  • Communicate sales issues to other members of the management team
  • Be responsible for determining staff development and training. In addition, work with management to regularly evaluate the development progress
  • Be responsible for development and implementation of sales plan. This plan should include market research, sales projections, territory or vertical market assignments, key and targeted account identification and new/existing costumer development program
  • Create a procedure for submitting high quality proposals to customers
  • Ensure that all evaluations of the sales staff are done per policy
  • Attend job meetings as required to speak on behalf of the company as conditions may require. Determine the point at which the sales staff should require your involvement with the customer
  • To lead by example, adhere to highest ethical standards and create a positive work environment
  • Effect change as needed to make for a pleasant working environment, a value-added customer resource and a profitable business concern
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management
  • Represent the company always with high moral standards while adhering to the company’s purpose, mission and vision

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • 10 Years industry experience with 5 years of sales management experience
  • Ideally should possess knowledge of conveyor systems, technology, customer relations, marketing and communications, project management processes, job casting and be skilled in supervising and managing people

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, and well-organized
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in the use of programs such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Travel

It is expected that this position with require a moderate amount of travel
