Responsibilities

  • Build market position by locating developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential customers/consultants; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Helps define the market strategy – where to go to be personally successful
  • Schedules introductory appointments by phone or in person
  • Creates and conducts introductory presentations to new prospects
  • Organizes and tracks all business development leads and maintains accurate data files on prospects
  • Continually targets companies with excellent long term potential to create future prospective pipelines
  • Works with team members to help develop campaigns with active and qualified prospects
  • Conceptualizes and sells strategic services and material handling integrated solutions, with an understanding of order fulfillment methodologies
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge or experience in the material handling market
  • Has current portfolio of consultants and or customers in need of material handling integration services
  • Successful business development record
  • Knowledge of CRM software systems
  • Proficient in social media platforms
  • Knowledge of MS applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Skilled in persuasive oral and written communication, including the ability to engage in meaningful conversations with all levels of organizations
  • Strong ability to take leadership role to drive change within the organization and for external engagements.
  • Must have leadership skills: Integrity, honesty, accountability, creativity, commitment to team environment and the ability to lead change
  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and effective penetration of vertical markets, prospective accounts and upper management
  • Ability to think, plan, execute, document and communicate goals and activities
  • Ability to take initiative and act independently as appropriate situations dictate
  • Generally, have great sales skills, closing skills, motivation of sales, prospecting skills, sales planning, selling to customer needs, territory management, presentation skills, energy level, meeting sales goals and professionalism

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, MBA is a plus
  • Business development or lead generation experience is required
  • Experience in the material handling, logistics, supply chain, software or technology sector is preferred
  • Incumbent should display a strong understanding of supply chain, material handling and order fulfillment application(s) with proven success working with CRM systems
